The black alien diamond “The Enigma” will be auctioned off in February. Want to buy a 555.5 carat diamond that walked in space? Now is the time!

Offered at auction by Sotheby’s Dubai, the diamond is believed to have been created either from a meteoric impact or from a “diamond-bearing” asteroid that collided with the Earth between 2.6 and 3.8 billion years ago. It will be on display in Dubai and Los Angeles before the auction next month.

A natural black diamond of this size is extremely rare, Sotheby’s expects $6.8 million.

It is known that it comes from elsewhere thanks to traces of nitrogen and hydrogen but especially osbornite, a mineral present in meteorites. To add a little mystery to this already incredible object, it seems that the number 5 is everywhere in this diamond: it is 555.55 carats and it also contains exactly 55 facets.

The auction will run from February 3 to 9 and crypto-currencies will be accepted as payment, according to the Sotheby’s website. If you didn’t know what to do with your millions, this is a great opportunity to acquire a unique item!
